As I started researching all the facets of foxes, one of the things that I found most interesting was that in many cultures, they're thought of as guides between the physical and spiritual realms, bringing messages back from lost loved ones.
For some reason, that idea really resonated with me, especially when I saw this artwork - it reminded me of my grandma who passed away from dementia.
Our memory is something we often take for granted - we tend to live without really thinking - to experience without remembering. Unless it was something that, at the time, we deemed was incredibly important, we often find we don't remember the little things.
That may not matter that much for small moments, but when it comes to people we've lost - those memories are everything. In fact one of the most interesting adages I have ever seen reflects that sentiment perfectly:
You die twice. Once when you stop breathing, and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.
My hope for this very special little hug for your wrist is that it reminds you to remember those you've lost - those you've loved. I hope it gives you peace, knowing that they are still here, watching over you, loving you just the same.
Big Hugs!
